Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with the storm RDX This is my second crossbow and i love it. The Acudraw cocking system works great and is the envy of my hunting partners with Barnett cocking system. It's easy to use and stores nicely. I also love the fact that the bow limbs do not stick out so far as to catch every branch and limb while walking threw the woods like my other crossbow did. It's very quiet and accurate to shoot. I would strongly recommend this crossbow to anyone thinking of getting one. In my opinion you can't go wrong ! I have a funny feeling that i may have to buy another freezer before hunting season is over this year LOL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THEE BEST IN 2015!!!!!! I'm one of the first owners of a STORM. BOW#78! I've put over 500 arrows through my STORM now!!! The timing is still PERFECT!! The strings and cables are in excellent condition with no signs of stretch yet. The accuracy is AWESOME!! The bow is relatively lightweight, but the balance makes it feel even lighter than it is because it's NOT front heavy like ALL standard draw crossbows. I own 3 RDX BOWS NOW. THE STORM, VISION, and SCORPYD EXTREME 160. I prefer the STORM for hunting over all 3. 30 years of crossbow hunting and the STORM is the best bow I've ever owned! PERIOD!! I will keep this one for years to come. The speed is great!! The trigger is a perfect hunting trigger with minimal creep and breaks clean when it's supposed to! No trigger anticipation whatsoever. The size is compact and easy to maneuver in tree stands, ground blinds, and still hunting. The STORM is the complete hunting package. I highly recommend the STORM to the serious hunter and any crossbow enthusiast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love everything about the Horton Storm RDX The first time I pulled the trigger on this Bow, I was hooked! Fast, well balanced, light, and incredible knockdown power. Sighting this in called for me to have to walk the 20 yards to stand my Hurricane Target Bag back up after every shot. (a real pain but I needed the exercise). I an not crazy about the fact that you can't use any product, (bolts, lighted nocs, etc. that is not made by Horton/Ten Point exclusively for this bow. Also, I am not crazy about the quiver. It needs to hold more than 3 bolts. And I also don't like where it is located. I would rather have it on the front of the bow like it's predecessor the Havoc. But the bow is incredible and I can't wait for season to start back up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bow for the money I have owned and used serveral crossbows for hunting and target shooting including: barnett ghost 350, barnett vengeance, barnett razr, tenpoint vapor and most recently the Storm Rdx with accudraw. The advantages of this bow over all others are: - Compacto size: very good for hunting in close quarters. - Adjustable stock: you have instant eye releif and focus with any scope. - Weight Distribution: very accurate shooting when standing or kneeling. No more tired arms when you hold the shooting position. - Less noise Due to the brush, no need to setup arrow detention spring when changing arrow types. - Omi nocks (Vapor uses them ass well) - Very little maintenance, only requieres wax and oil every 75 shots, compared to every 5 or 10 shots on other brands. Would highly recommend using the accudraw version which allows cocking the Bow correctly every time even when sitting. Upgrading the scope to a range master pro with HHA optimizer o Vortex XBR would be highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 6th crossbow and is the best! I hunt with bow for the last 8 years. I love crossbow. I review it for a forum and it's my principal hunt for deer. In hunting situation in the few year of my experience, the weight, pound and balance is the most significative point. The speed an accuracy of this crossbow is exeptionnal! My best bow ever! I have posseid a Excalibur, Horton Legend 175, Blitz 150, Stryker Desert 390, Carbon Express SLS... The best bow for trigger, speed, accuracy, sound and vibration!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Storm RDX Friend of mine bought this bow after a lot of research and I had the privilege of being the one who got to set it up. Neither one of us has used a crossbow (I have bowhunted with a compound for 35 years) and all I can say is WOW!!! What a blast to shoot! I've already broke two of his three bolts shooting at one spot on the target seeing how good it groups. Accuracy from 20, 30, 40 and fifty yards is outstanding! Can't wait to see him use it for Javelina in Arizona.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horton Strom I hunt with a crossbow out of necessary. This is the second Horton crossbow I have owned. The Storm is a good weight and balance. I really like the anti-dry fire protection and acu draw feature. The action is smooth and it is quiet. My only dislike is the side mounted quiver (vertical) . Walking in with a backpack on, the bolts are in the way, no matter which side I carried the bow. Moving the quiver to the up of the bow, (horizontal) mount is the ticket. The quiver is up, out of the way and much more manageable, not banging arm against the end of the bolts going through the woods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horton Storm This is my first crossbow. I did a lot of research on line, eight months worth, before deciding on the Horton storm. Gauthier's Archery in Traverse City helped me out a lot. After shooting it I was amazed not only at the speed but also how quiet and smooth it was. My only hesitation in buying it was it is a new product and I'm usually one to wait on any purchases until the product has been out and consumer tested. Jim at Gauthier's assured me it was a Ten Point product and not to worry. Last weekend it was early doe season and I harvested a Doe the second day. The power of the bow broke ribs going in and out and the bolt stuck in the ground another 10". It did exactly what I was hoping it would do. Give me the ability to make a clean humane kill. So far I love it. My only problem is I need to find a target that will stop the bolts but are still easy to remove. I'm having so much fun with it I'm thinking about using it during rifle season.

What is the difference between the dedd sled draw the Accu draw

Asked by: Mnke
The Dedd Sled is a direct pull cocker, which means you are pulling the draw weight of 165lbs. The Dedd Sled50 reduces the draw by 50%. The Acudraw is a crank style mechanism that takes the draw weight down to about 5lbs of force to turn the crank handle.

i just bought the horton storm and i see that these bolts that come with the package are 400gr does that include the 100gr field point? also what is the lightest bolt that i can go with? i will be using 125gr broad head

Asked by: goodfellas
Yes, the 400 grains does include the 100 grain tip. You can go down to a 370 grain Pro Lite, but I would not suggest it. The Horton arrow that it came with will work very well with a 125 grain head on it.

Do you have the specs for FPS/FP KE for the pro elites arrow with 100grain tip. 425 grains total? I'm trying to decide purchasing the storm or nitro? I have nitro specs. currently using p.elites w/wicked ridge. Storm is A great deal.

Asked by: RGKproperty
The Storm would shoot the Pro Elites at about 364 fps. The Storm and Nitro run off the same basic platform, but the Nitro will have so added features like the Rangemaster scope and woven carbon fiber barrel.

Can the strings be changed by me or does it have to be taken in

Asked by: Berg
The bow needs to be in a press to change the string and cables.

Can I manually draw the acudraw with a draw string?

Asked by: Wendall
On the RDX style bows, you have to have a sled type cocker. The AcuDraw or the Dedd Sled is the way to go.
